The year is almost over, so it's time to think about next year. If you haven't checked the events page yet, 2025 is the year you'll see me at a lot more conventions. Something I wanted to do last year, but due to moving and Covid I wasn't in time to register for many of those conventions.
This coming year will be different, as I already have 4 conventions in the first half of the year and I'm still waiting for responses from a few.
But conventions aren't complete without the products I sell. However, selling the same thing over and over again isn't fun either, so it's time for a new collection! This time a Lovebirbs collection. Last year I sold DnD inspired lovebirds in 6 different colors. Only as stickers though, but I had a lot of fun illustrating these birds at the time. That's why I'm diving deeper into it with the new collection.
The new collection is: Roleplaying Lovebirbs.
With series 1 in brackets, because I have more ideas than time, so I can only make a selection of the illustrations. If it works, I will do a series 2 next year, the ideas for it are already ready. Here are a few sketches of the designs:
Roleplaying Lovebirbs comes with 12 different designs that each have 10 color variations. After all, lovebirds come in different colors. That means I have to make 120 illustrations just for this collection! Luckily I already started and have finished 20 of them.
For those wondering why I don't expand the old designs, I have two reasons. First of all, I want to use a new coloring style. One with more detail (yes, what am I doing to myself to want that with 120 illustrations). The second reason is a longer story. The old designs are on RedBubble and that's why I found the designs on sites like AliExpress or Zazzle because it's easy to steal via RedBubble. And although I have already reported a few and had them removed, that's quite a lot of work. On AliExpress I can't even figure out how to do that.
Now I have to go back to the drawing board! 100 more illustrations to go…
The new year is coming, time for a new collection!
